Spring cleaning is not just for you and me but also for the birds! Some birds are molting or shedding their old feathers and replacing them with bright, new ones for the breeding season. They need to find fresh water to clean their feathers and remove parasites. Adding a birdbath is a great way for them to bathe and stay hydrated in the heat. More bird species are attracted to bird baths than feeders for this reason. We recommend shallow baths with a textured surface to make it easy to walk into the water without going too deep. Adding rocks to the birdbath is another way to offer this if your birds have difficulty bathing.
