Okay, at first I didn't believe the rumors about Irv and Ashanti, but then after it was confirmed, I assumed that she stopped fµck!ng with Irv to be with Nelly. After looking at interviews and timelines, it seems like she was fµck!ng both of them for a good lil minute.
In This interview Irv details the relationship.

*He says that He and his wife, Deb, had been separated for a while before he started messing with Ashanti and that Ashanti had nothing to do with the demise of their marriage. Deb had actually kicked him out for other infidelities and he had been staying at his studio...and in his words, He was "Off the hook" and that's when and Ashanti started an intimate relationship. He was also messing with other women as well.
*It was exciting. They were making great music, breaking records, and becoming successful. They had a bond and a vibe, and it felt like they were conquering the world together. "Great sëx is a catalyst for good music".
*Although Ashanti looks great now, he has absolutely no interest in her now.
*He and Nelly had beef because they were with the same girl, but they are cool now.
*Irv found out about Ashanti and Nelly through the media basically.
*In that Nelly and Tim Mcgraw video, Nelly initially put Ashanti's picture in there. Nelly actually called Irv and gave him the heads up that he was putting Ashanti's picture in the video and Irv told Nelly "Remove her from that fµck!ng video". Irv admits he was in his feelings and Nelly was also in his feelings. Nelly ended up using Ciara's picture.
*He and Ashanti were never an official couple. They were just "chilling".

Okay, so apparently, Deb kicked Irv out around the time Irv and Deb's youngest son(Born in 2000) was a couple months old, so Ashanti and Irv's situation probably started in 2001.

Ashanti and Nelly met in Jan 2003 at the press conference for the grammys.
In 2004, You can definitely see the back and forth happening and it was very public.

In 2005, Ashanti was hugged up with BOTH of them at her bday party....
Now it was alleged that Ashanti also had something going on with ***** Santana (who also worked with Murder Inc) around this time as well, and that was the cause of Her and Nelly's breakup in 2012.

Well you need only look at Ashanti and Keyshia Cole videos like “Don’t Let Them” and “I Should’ve Cheated,” both videos which used ***** as the leading male love interest which sparked talk back as far as 2005 that the two women hated each other because they both were involved with ***** — at the same damn time!!! Ironically, ***** was also married at the time, a fact Ashanti later used to deflect Nelly’s suspicions after he heard talk about their involvement. In addition to serving as eye candy to both ladies he also did double duty behind the boards, producing on several songs with each. He also had easy access to Ashanti as Irv had brought him on as part of The Inc team. We all know that Nelly isn’t exactly innocent either, but after years of being off and on he’d finally made the decision to be a changed man and move forward with the relationship. Cornell came clean about all his wrongdoings — but Ashanti maintained that she’d been faithful during the relationship.
From what we hear — Ashanti’s new duet with Keyshia Cole “Woman To Woman” rang a little too true to his ears. After years of knowing that Ashanti was at odds with Keyshia (who never made it a secret that she disliked Ashanti and may as well have confessed to a relationship with ***** during a 2005 appearance on “106 & Park”) why were the women finally able to bury the hatchet? Only because both had moved on from ***** (who ironically had production credits on Cole’s 2010 album).
Long story short — Nelly was no longer able to buy Ashanti’s story about *****. And if the stories about ***** were true, how many others were as well?
That’s why after those lavish birthday parties he threw for her — Nelly closed the door on Ashanti for the last time.
Now when Ashanti was on the breakfast club a couple years back, around the time her and Nelly got back together, they asked her if the rumors were true that she cheated on Nelly. At first she denied it, but then she danced around the question and said that everything comes full circle and then basically admitted that they both cheated.
Now Nelly wasn't innocent either. During this time, there was talk about him and Eve messing around, and there was even a rumored sëx tape that was supposed to leak of them two.
Nelly also met Tae Heckard in 2004 and began seeing her off and on for years.
and When Nelly broke up with Ashanti in 2012, he went public with Tae, but on the breakfast club, Ashanti basically said that Nelly was doing that out of spite and that she knew what the facade was.
As we know, Nelly dumped Tae and went back to Ashanti before they eventually broke up for good in 2014.
I know this is all old tea, but I just found it interesting. I always liked Nelly and Ashanti together, but didn't know or realize how messy their relationship actually was.
